Negligent Homicide
Under Arizona law, a person may be charged with negligent homicide if such he or she causes the death of another person through criminal negligence. It is not uncommon for drug or alcohol-related accidents to lead to a negligent homicide charge against the allegedly impaired driver. Negligent homicide is a Class 4 felony, and it can carry a prison sentence of 1 to 3.75 years for a first offense.
